Music Courses
PIMFOnline is now offering – through our new year-round Music Academy – weekly music courses including: Music Theory, Ear Training, Orchestration/Instrumentation, Conducting / Musical Analysis and History of Sacred Music. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings, October 13 through November 10. Registration includes access to the PIMF Solo Performance Lecture Series with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra.
Solo Performance
"Boot Camps"
PIMF Solo Performance “Boot Camps” are designed for students ages 13 and above (college students included) preparing for auditions, competitions, or solo performances. These specialized Solo Performance Intensives are available in October and November. Both programs include: private lessons with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra, daily performance class, audition preparation courses, live-streamed solo performance opportunity, and more.
Virtual Concerto
Competition
Student musicians from around the world compete in four divisions for performance awards and over $25,000 in music camp scholarships. Age divisions are as follows: 8-11, 12-14, 15-18, and 19-25. The competition is open to all instruments including piano and classical guitar, and includes a live solo performance in Philadelphia for the Grand Prize Winner. Private Lessons
Study online with Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra and Artistic Director of PIMF; or Madison Day, Assistant Artistic Director of the Philadelphia International Music Festival, in 60-minute segments. Private lessons are available weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or on a one-time basis. Lessons fill up quickly, so upload your audition or register online today.
Master Classes
The PIMF Master Class Series features principal players and other members of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra. Student musicians from around the world perform in these master classes, designed specifically for music students, parents and educators. Each class concludes with a “Q&A Session” in which YOU are given the opportunity to interact with the host!
In-Person Camps
The Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF) is a summer music program directed by Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra. PIMF offers student musicians from around the world the opportunity of spending up to four weeks immersed in music education and performance training with members of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra.

Celia Sieckert, 16, an aspiring cellist from Minnesota, attended summer music camp this year at the Philadelphia International Music Festival and Camp (PIMF) in Bryn Mawr, PA. In an intensive week of study and practice, she had private lessons with three different cellists, workshops with a piano accompanist (Anna Kislitsyna), a master class with Hai-Ye Ni, principal cellist with The Philadelphia Orchestra, in-depth study of Brahms’s C minor cello sonata and lectures by guest experts such as Anthony Prisk, who plays trumpet with The Philadelphia Orchestra….
